Teaching given by the ÒRÌŞÀ Deity Ọ̀ŞUN / OSHUN through her ẸLẸ̀GÚN / Medium at the Ọ̀ŞUN Festival:

ÒRÌŞÀ Ọ̀ŞUN / OSHUN: When the Master (Baba Odùdúwà) came and left all this heritage, the main function of this, beyond enjoying the human and the profane, was to lead, to give a direction to the followers, to the future heirs of this. The Religion, the Tradition is Happiness, as long as it is NOT accompanied by Fanaticism, by the blindness that fanaticism gives you. Religion is happiness when it is accompanied by the understanding and the wisdom that this transmits to you the approach you have with the DIVINE. The happiest moment I have and that I can remember is when I realized I was alive. In my life before I knew what sweetness was, I lived submerged in bitterness for certain things I did not understand, and when I finally understood them, the poison that I could have spread, and the obstacles that I could have put in my way became the virtues that now you all know. That is why there is no one sweeter than Me, but there is also no one more bitter than Me. Do you understand, my daughter? You have already tasted the bitterness, now you will be able to know perfectly what is the real sweetness and not what we create or imagine ourselves. So you will also realize that you can feel, that you can hurt yourself, but you can also laugh and you can enjoy. The only thing that prevents you to reach this is you. There is no time for that, there is no place for that. If NOT, for each tear that you spill you will have to take to my temple an offering of "Oshinshin" with chicken eggs, river shrimp, Swiss chard, salt, a little bit of honey. Remember that each drop of tears that you shed, you will bring me a plate of that offering. When you understand it, you will only have to bring a plate of that. You will understand something that is very important, that just one tear is enough to be happy, and find that happiness that you have looked for so much.

When AKAMARA (Olódùmarè = God All Mighty) breathed into his Divinity and He created the Irúnmọ̀le, he entrusted my Irúnmọ̀le with the task of Loving and Hating. If something disturbs you and annoys you, you should never hate, because it means that you loved that too much. From love to hate there is a step, and from hatred to love too. If something disturbs you, be indifferent, this is the worst punishment.
