YOU CHOOSE YOUR DESTINY IN HEAVEN, AND YOU CANNOT CHANGE IT.

Teaching given by the Fon spirit, Tata G, an Emissary of Bàbá Odùdúwà.

ẸGBẸ́ ÓDÙN ỌLỌ́FIN - The Spiritual Family of the Secret or Principle of ỌLỌ́FIN. Yorùbá Olófista Tradition. Nov 29, 2024

Tata G: How does father Odùdúwà determine and direct the decisions that are made within our Ẹgbẹ́ Ódùn Olọ́fin? How does he manage it? In the knowledge that he has of Ifá. He (Bàbá Odùdúwà) knows Ifá, and as he knows Ifá, he knows the possibilities. That is why it is said that in each humanity, each person creates a verse with his life, how he lives, he creates that verse and it remains written within the Wisdom of Ifa. It is already written, everyone already has their destiny written, everyone, absolutely everyone, was born with a destiny that they chose. So, all the things that happen in life are consequences of that decision that was made in the Celestial Construction-Ikole Ọ̀run. When you chose their fate, you chose everything that you were going to live. Whether we forget it is another thing, isn't it? And whether you accept it, that's another thing.

Why do people forget their Oath they took in heaven/Ikole Ọ̀̀run? Because it is not easy to accept that what we are living, or the bad person he is, or the actions we are doing, and to little did I decide that, that's why it is difficult.

Why do we forget? The answer is because everyone has to embrace the “tree of forgetting” before coming to Incarnate.

And we do it with what intention, or why do we do it? Should we remember it or should we not remember it?

Under what concepts do you make or choose your destiny, under what criteria? If consciousness is supposed to be barely formed, in quotation marks, by what criteria do you choose?

There is a misinterpretation of what I am referring to. It is not that it is gone..., Consciousness was already there before. You all already existed in Ilé Ọ̀run. But some decide, they say, “Oh, I'm going to go down to Earth now,” others later, and so on. When they make that decision is when they pass to Ikolé Ọ̀run, which is when the material consciousness begins to form. So, you choose a destiny based on what criteria? Most people choose their destiny based on their ambition.

Sara: But then, do we already have a consciousness to choose that? From before we come down? So, the point is that when you are in Ilé Ọ̀run, you are YOU. You on Earth are an appearance, in Ilé Ọ̀̀run there is NO APPEARANCE.

Sara: And then, it is not strange to me, why do we embrace “The Tree of Forgetfulness”?

Tata G: You “ embrace the tree of Forgetfulness” so that when you manifest on Earth, you will see the consequences of your decisions, of what you chose.

Sara: I mean, so, is that the destiny, is that our work or is that the destiny that we have to follow for having made that choice, or for having chosen that? Is that really the destiny that we have to follow for having made that?

Tata G: It is that you are going to continue in the destiny you chose, YES or YES. Because what you have chosen can NOT be erased. What you have chosen can NOT be changed. You choose your destiny based on your ambitions. And if you are ambitious for what you do not have. If you are greedy for pleasures, usually.

I ask you a question: What would be the answer? What would be the reason for you to come down from heaven to earth, if in heaven you have everything? You don't have to pay rent there? You don't have to be suffering from illnesses? What would be the reason for you to leave a comfortable place and be willing to pay that price? To consider that earthly pleasures go beyond that.

Sara: And how do we know that there are those pleasures or how do we know that there are those pleasures to choose them?

Tata G: To choose them, it is not the first time that they manifest here. You have to remember that there is Atunwa (Reincarnation). What is Atunwa? Atunwa is what Danny said, reincarnation. Within the tradition there is NO death as such. There is the spirit of transformation (Ikú), there is death. So many times we recognize, the more it may be our ambition to choose the bad for the good. It is that if you think about it, if in flesh you already lived a pleasure, that pleasure is so to become something hedonic. Of course, when you leave, you want to repeat it. And you know that it can become even greater and much more pleasurable.

Well yes, let's look at it in a more vague way, like with some drug that you really like and you go on and on and on and on. Now imagine with something else... That you already knew until you know what it's like. Because there are many types of drugs. For example, power, love. But according to what father Oduduwa said, in the last teaching; “The Power made the Ebo”, Why?.... Because everybody covets it. But it has the quality of removing the "mask" from people.

There is even a saying about it, “Give power to a Fool and you will see who he is”. Or when they say, “Power changed him.” Power revealed who he really was.

If you study IFA and you know what are the things that did Ẹbọ, and what are the things that didn't do Ẹbọ, then you can handle those aspects in your life. Hence the importance of following the precepts.

And what does that refer to?

If you know the things that didn't do Ẹbọ through the study of IFA, you can use those things and inspire a good life, make yourself a good life. You have to remember that everybody's destiny has a function in the universe. Everybody has a function. There are people that I honestly believe, on a personal basis, that exist just to steal oxygen or to take a place in the universe. There is even a theory. However, what Father Oduduwa says is that everything, down to the smallest detail, has a reason for being. And Father Oduduwa is able to observe that reason, understand it and use that reason for his intentions. What happens?

Who made Ẹbọ? the IRÉ or the AYEWO/IBI? It was the Ayewo/Ibi. Why did the AYEWO make Ẹbọ and not the IRÉ? When it is considered best to accept the IRÉ (Good Luck). And why didn't he do it? The IRÉ did not do Ẹbọ for VANITY, Because it was well, Because he was IRÉ. He appealed to his own vanity, And Ayewo, the negativity, no? Negativity was in negativity, and it made Ẹbọ. And that's why most of the world lives in Negativity. That reminds me of those who are born poor and those who are born rich, who usually put more effort into it? Understanding that part helps you utilize those aspects. Just because you have IRÉ (Good Luck) does not mean that you will always have it. Then it is important to do Ẹbọ, isn't it? In fact Ifa indicates it.

It is easier to lose an “IRÉ” than to transform an AYEWO/ÍBI, a Negativity into IRÉ. It is easier to lose the IRÉ, because the IRÉ in the end did NOT make Ẹbọ, and it becomes ephemeral, It goes to sleep, If it is not transcendental in the life of the people. Although he is considered to be well at the highest. That is why one learns more from Ayewo (Íbi), One learns more from negativity than from Positivity, or one learns from negativity but not from the positive, because he already has it although there can also be a moment of reflection and give value to the IRÉ, but for that he has to enter in negativity by Force, he can NOT value it if he does not pass to the other side, then that blinds him, because we have to go giving our shocks to learn from the mistakes and says I am not going to go because it will hurt me,*

I better go to see that they take away the pain and then give me the medicine exactly, it is part of nature itself, that is why we come back to the same thing, if you understand the things that Ẹbọ did, and the things that didn't do Ẹbọ, etc., you will realize how the whole world moves. The whole world is manifested in that, that's why Ifa is so strong.
