The Clash of Realities
Teaching given by Bàbá Odùdúwà through his medium/Ẹlẹ̀gún.
Yorùbá Olófista Tradition. ẸGBẸ́ ÓDÙN ỌLỌ́FIN The Spiritual Family of the Secret of Olófin. February 2, 2025
Bruno: One of the teachings that you and the Tata gave is that at some point the realities that are formed collide. And I want to know when they collide and how can one know when those realities collide and what happens when those realities collide?
Odùdúwà: The way in which the universes are created is through something that until today is considered “theoretical” and is known by the name of a White Hole. A White Hole, not a Black Hole. This universe is created in a perfect balance, just like the others. Realities collide at the moment a decision is made. And that clash produces different universes. Depending on the complexity of the decision taken. And that is where Ẹgbẹ́ comes in. Ẹgbẹ́ (Ẹgbẹ́ Ayé) is the manifestation of all of you in all realities. Ẹgbẹ́ is not to be confused with Ẹgbẹ́ Ọ̀run.
Ẹgbẹ́ Ọ̀run is the manifestation of all of you, and all those who are sprinkled throughout the multiverse (the aggregate of all the parallel universes of Creation), but manifested in Ilé Ọ̀run/the Spiritual World, that is Ẹgbẹ́ Ọ̀run.
The Ẹgbẹ́ of you (Ẹgbẹ́ Ayé or the embodied part of the collective Soul in this material world) is the material manifestation of you in the multiverse.
Ifalenu: There is one here, one there, and so on.
Oduduwa: That phenomenon was understood by the ancient Yorubas, when they looked at their reflection in the river. They understood that just as there was a reflection in the water, it meant that you had diverse manifestations in alternate realities. If you look at your reflection, you will realize that this reflection is nothing more than another manifestation of you that exists there. The vision that the person who prays to his destiny for what is known as a head prayer (Ẹbọ Orí) cannot look at himself in the mirror after having performed that ceremonial, since his spirit could be trapped in some other different reality than the one that corresponds to him.
Now, if we talk about the icon of Ẹgbẹ́ (Awe Ẹgbẹ́), you will realize that it is nothing more than that, a clay vessel filled with water, among other aspects, alluding to the reflection emitted by the water in that vessel when its bearer looks into the vessel, and is able to observe its different manifestations in various parallel universes or the multiverse.
A more practical way to know when two realities collided, is when a person who has been interpreted or prophesied a long life, and by his decision (Free Will) suffered from some sinister event and perishes in a short time.
This is a manifestation of the clash of realities. Ifá teaches in the sign of Oyeku Méjì, that death is only suffered by those who are alive, those who die only close their eyes and awaken to another reality in another plane. Hence, in Yoruba conceptions, death does not exist as such. There is Transformation, but not Death, because it is known of the existence of other realities beyond what is called death.
